Tumblr : the next big thing

The dominant demographic appears to be Gen Y from my experience with Tumblr. If you're in this demographic you'll probably 'get' Tumblr immediately and find it easy to connect with people like you. If you're not part of this demographic, well, you still have something there. For example, if you are interested in following this demographic, you have to be where we are and Tumblr is now our home on the internet. Find out what we are interested in, what issues are about us, what web pages entertain us. Marketers and enthusiasts in the social media have to keep up with every demographic and Tumblr is the place for Gen Y.

Tumblr is some sort of underground subculture right now, but it'll soon be mainstream. This year Tumblr has seen tremendous growth: by the end of October, averaging 2 million page views a day in January to more than 6 million a day. Back to what I said at the beginning, the announcement that Sequoia Capital will secure funding and a new Product Director means that big things happen to Tumblr. If you are one of those people who are forced to follow internet trends, then this is the one you are watching right now. All I wrote about Tumblr can change as more people begin to use it. After all, according to how people decide to use it, social media always changes. Stay ahead and use Tumblr before you start to lag behind.

Facebook : Great Social Networking Site

Although over 100 social networking sites exist, the 15 top sites are the most popular. Facebook: Today, most people are Facebook members who can easily be classified as the most popular social networking site. It existed since 2006 and was originally intended primarily for Harvard students. It was founded by Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes, with his college colleges. It has gradually spread to other colleges in Boston, Ivy League and University of Stanford and today it can boast over 150 million members worldwide.

Having a Facebook account means having a key to the world because it can keep in touch without knowing the other person's physical address, email address, number or screen name, regardless of where the other person is living. You can write, chat, send instant messages, share photos immediately, blog, read and watch everything the other person has posted. Events or causes can also be set up and friends invited, and they can always keep them informed. The success of Facebook can be attributed to its provision of a common level of communication and socialization between people of all walks of life. Its popularity and wide reach led marketers and businesspeople to use this site for the marketing of their products and services by articles and advertising.

Linkedin : online social network

LinkedIn is often misconcepted as a job board or an online social network, but Cliff Rosenberg is disagreeing with the Managing Director of LinkedIn Australia and New Zealand. Cliff Rosenberg claimed during a recent #SMC Melbourne event held in the Order of Melbourne that LinkedIn is not a social media network, but an expert network which also provides intelligence to its users.

LinkedIn can be another platform to keep up with the latest industry information. Great example in LinkedIn Today, launched this year in March. LinkedIn Today collects top headlines and stories from a range of industries that LinkedIn's network of professionals shares the most.

Members can also see highly trendy news strongly related to a certain industry, and what people in that industry share most. It shows the top 3 stories which have strong relationships with you, including social media, advertising, the Internet and IT in my case. You can modify your profile for anyone unhappy with the information provided, so that the top stories are delivered to different industries or from different sources. LinkedIn : method to interact

A good way to interact with members is to join professional groups. This is a very powerful instrument. You can participate in conversations, ask questions, get advice or get opinions by joining a group. Hint: It's a very effective way to do informal market research and to find out what your potential customers need.

It's not selling, but adding value and building your authority in your industry or trade. As you become more well known, you will probably find people approaching you instead of approaching you.

Another way to check your connections is to see who they are connected to. If they know someone you know, you can contact them directly and ask them to introduce you. If you are satisfied with your service and are aware of your desire and confidence, you are more than willing to recommend your contact.

The other alternative is to ask for your contact in LinkedIn. If you make a recommendation about yourself, it will appear on your home page updates section. Speaking of recommendations, it is important that individuals who can influence your career receive recommendations. Send a note explaining how people can recommend you when you ask for recommendations. Some people just don't know how to do this and LinkedIn don't have a big button to recommend to people.

 Many appealing applications are on the increase due to Twitter, and URLs are one, because URLs are long and dominate all of the partial characters before you can explain why you are providing an exacting link. It's basically a view of Twitter via the eyes of LinkedIn - you can call it Twitter for professionals.

The LinkedIn signal can be found in your profile panel by going to the News tab at the bottom of your profile and then scrolling to Signal. You can sort tweets by 1st grade connections, 2nd grade connections, company, industry, time, location, and much more once you're in the Signal dashboard. It can be a great way to gather interesting information from your own professional network.

These recent innovations from the LinkedIn team show that LinkedIn is much more concerned with content, particularly with the conservation of content throughout the web and with the provision of information to its users. It quickly becomes a search engine in some ways, which is comparable to Facebook. The main difference from Google between Facebook and LinkedIn is that information is found by users rather than by users. Google isn't yet, but it's rapidly changing and trying to evolve.

LinkedIn may lag behind Facebook for users, but it has a very attractive demographic that is very attractive to advertisers and businesses to business (B2B) marketers. According to Cliff Rosenberg, members of LinkedIn are 43 years old in average and have an average earnings of $100,000, which is more than average earnings.

LinkedIn Ads are a great paid option for targeting prospects because you can target prospects by geography, business, job title, group, sex and age. Much is said to be much more costly, but keep in mind that you are reaching a more attractive population with higher disposable incomes as well as business professionals.

In a statement made this week, Tumblr has just found a major investor and a new product manager. It's clear that they have planned big things for the future of Tumblr, so there is no reason to keep it secret any longer. If you haven't had the pleasure to use Tumblr yet, let me tell you why.

It's not like WordPress, Blogger, or any blogging platform you used previously. Such text posts on Tumblr are rare. Rather than sharing text, users share images, video, music, any sort of multimedia that is fast and easily consumed. You can follow users whose posts you like, re-blog them on your own blog, and like individual posts. Once you follow a number of users, their posts appear on your dashboard. This dashboard is the first thing you see when you login and is just like the Twitter schedule. In fact, the entire service is much like Twitter except more socially.

From interior design to the hottest film stars, there are tumblelogs, and the people who help them are as devoted as they come.
