Tumblr is an escape from serious social media platforms such as WordPress and Twitter. Personally I like to use it for entertainment and to post personal thoughts that people don't necessarily want to read on my blog. You can do whatever you want. There is a tumblelog directory sorted by dozens of categories. Follow a bunch of user pages in the categories that you want to make your Tumblr experience worthwhile. When you sign up for your dashboard, things you want to see are filled with, and you will be entertained instantly. You can tailor it to suit your personal interests like a website.
It's a collection of many different communities, actually. No matter how eclectic your interests are, you can be sure that Tumblr has a group of like-minded people. From interior design to the hottest film stars, there are tumblelogs, and the people who help them are as devoted as they come. Do you have some dark interests and find it difficult to connect people who are in the same stuff? Perhaps Tumblr is for you. Are you so passionate about something that you feel you have to share with the whole web? Perhaps Tumblr is for you. To make sharing even easier, if you use Firefox, you can use a mouse click to share anything on the internet. Share and tag a bunch of things correctly and I guarantee you will get people in the same things that you are.
